Elisabeth Moss Leads the New Hulu Series ‘Conviction’ from David Shore and Warren Littlefield, Plus More Adaptations of Jack Jordan’s Books
Hulu has officially ordered a new series titled Conviction, a legal drama featuring Elisabeth Moss and created by David Shore, known for his work on House and The Good Doctor. The series is based on Jack Jordan’s 2023 novel of the same name, and Shore, along with Moss, serves as an executive producer. The project is a collaboration with 20th Television, which has recently signed a development deal with Jordan for adaptations of his novels, including Redemption (2024) and Deception (2026).
In Conviction, Moss portrays Neve Harper, a confident criminal defense attorney who takes on a high-profile murder case involving a husband accused of setting his home ablaze to kill his wife. As the case unfolds, Neve is blackmailed by a mysterious stranger, compelling her to make difficult choices that jeopardize her legal and ethical values to secure a not-guilty verdict while keeping her secrets hidden.
Although Conviction had been in the works for some time, the series received a swift green light from Hulu. Following the submission of an initial pilot script by Shore, Hulu requested additional content, including an outline for the second episode. In a surprising move, Shore chose to submit a complete second script, leading to the series order shortly thereafter.

A writers’ room for Conviction is set to open in ten days, with production anticipated to start in June in New York.
This latest project marks the third collaboration between Moss and Littlefield for Hulu, following the critically acclaimed The Handmaid’s Tale, in which Moss played a leading role, and the upcoming sequel, The Testaments, set to premiere on April 8.
Shore is joined by Erin Gunn as an executive producer for Shore Z Productions, while Littlefield, Ann Johnson, and Lisa Harrison contribute as executive producers for The Littlefield Co. Bert Salke is an executive producer for Co-Lab21, with Moss and Lindsey McManus representing Love & Squalor Pictures. Jordan is also credited as an executive producer. 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios, is overseeing the production.
Jordan’s development deal with 20th TV encompasses upcoming novels and original scripts. Notably, Redemption is being developed by Disney Entertainment’s International Originals EMEA team in collaboration with 20th TV, The Littlefield Co., and Riff Raff Entertainment, involved with the upcoming adaptation of Deception, which is set to release in June.
This marks Shore’s first series green light under his overall deal with 20th TV, which began in 2024. A legal drama has been a long-standing goal for Shore since he joined the studio.
Having previously worked as a practicing attorney and partner at a law firm in Toronto, Shore has a wealth of experience in legal dramas, contributing to shows like The Practice, Law & Order, and Family Law. He later created the acclaimed medical dramas, House and The Good Doctor.
Shore’s transition to 20th TV was influenced by the studio’s ability to produce content for both broadcast and streaming platforms. In addition to Conviction for Hulu, Shore is also working on a medical drama titled Under Pressure, currently under development at ABC.
Conviction represents Shore’s second streaming series, following Sneaky Pete for Prime Video. Shore is represented by CAA, The Shuman Co., and attorney Bill Sobel.
Moss, recently recognized for her role in The Handmaid’s Tale, starred in and produced the FX on Hulu limited series The Veil and will also executive produce the upcoming Apple TV series Imperfect Women. She is represented by WME, Ocean Avenue, Ribisi Entertainment Group, and HJTH.
Littlefield has received accolades, sharing an Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series for The Handmaid’s Tale and another for Outstanding Miniseries for Fargo. He recently executive produced The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox for Hulu. Littlefield’s association with the studio began in 2016 with Fox 21 TV Studios, later expanding to include 20th Television.
Jordan’s works, including Conviction and Redemption, have been recognized on the longlist for the prestigious Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year award in 2024 and 2025, respectively. His other novels include Anything for Her (2015), My Girl (2016), A Woman Scorned (2018), Before Her Eyes (2018), Night by Night (2019), and the 2022 thriller Do No Harm, a bestseller that was shortlisted for the Thriller of the Year at the Capital Crime Fingerprint Awards. Jordan is represented by the Madeleine Milburn Agency, WME, and FKKS.
