Ed Helms and Nat Wolff Team Up with Rachel Zegler and Marisa Tomei in She Gets It From Me
Ed Helms and Nat Wolff Join Cast of ‘She Gets It From Me’
Actors Ed Helms and Nat Wolff have officially joined the lead cast of the upcoming film She Gets It From Me, which is scheduled to begin production this month. Helms, known for his roles in The Office and The Hangover trilogy, will share the screen with Wolff, recognized for his work in Paper Towns and Play Dirty.
The film, directed by Julia von Heinz, will also feature Rachel Zegler and Marisa Tomei, both previously announced as part of the cast. Production is set to commence in New Jersey on February 23.
Written by Jay Reiss, She Gets It From Me is produced by 3311 Productions, Anna Werner for Seven Elephants, along with Susan Leber and Jack Chinery. Reiss will also take on production responsibilities. Embankment Films is pre-selling the film and will represent it at the European Film Market, with CAA handling North American distribution.
According to the film’s synopsis, the storyline centers on Nicky Jannis, played by Zegler, who is hesitant to marry without first meeting her birth mother. Simultaneously, Charlotte Wolfe, portrayed by Tomei, reflects on the baby girl she relinquished years prior. Their emotional reunion draws both mother and daughter, along with Helms and Wolff’s characters, into a humorous yet poignant exploration of family dynamics.
“We’ve all seen adoption movies that focus on the search for the long-lost parent, but what happens after that emotional reunion?” von Heinz remarked. “That’s a whole new territory we explore in this film, full of comedy but also deeply meaningful questions about the nature of motherhood.”
The directing prowess of von Heinz will guide the cast, which includes actors represented by major agencies: von Heinz by CAA, Zegler by WME, Tomei by The Gersh Agency, Untitled Entertainment, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole, Wolff by WME and Untitled Entertainment, and Helms by UTA.
