Eagle Rock Community Addresses Ongoing Noise Issues from Alarms
Neighbors in Eagle Rock Find Relief from Disturbing Alarms
In Eagle Rock, residents have reported a significant reduction in noise disturbances that were affecting their sleep, following the deactivation of security alarms at a local business. Initially, complaints centered around the historic Sparkletts’ bottling plant, which has since clarified that the source of the noise was actually a different nearby establishment.
Residents voiced frustration over alarm sounds that could be heard late into the night, including a loud voice repeatedly instructing individuals to stop trespassing on the property. "You are trespassing. Please leave the area," echoed from mobile surveillance trailers equipped with cameras and speakers.
One frustrated neighbor described the alarm as disruptive, particularly when it sounded in the early hours of the morning. In response to the nightly interruptions, a group of residents, exhausted from lack of sleep, organized a petition urging the business to turn off the alarm.
"I know LA has a homeless problem. I understand, but at the same time, the people who live here, the people who have homes, are being disturbed every single night," the community member shared, opting to remain anonymous.
Initially at the center of the uproar, the Sparkletts’ bottling plant, located on Lincoln Avenue, stated through its owner, Primo Brands, that the noise originated from a nearby business. "After several days of on-site review, our team has been working closely with a neighboring resident to investigate the noise concern," the company said. "Based on this work, we have confirmed that the alarm sounds are not originating from our property. Instead, the alarm is coming from a business located across the street."
Further investigation by local news outlet NBCLA confirmed the claims of residents, and discussions are ongoing with the other business to resolve the alarm issue.
