Ducks Struggle to Find the Net in Loss to Senators
OTTAWA— Linus Ullmark recorded his second shutout of the season, leading the Ottawa Senators to a 2-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. Ullmark’s stellar performance included 23 saves, marking the 14th shutout of his career. The Senators, now having won four of their last five games, showcased a strong team effort.
Michael Amadio and Thomas Chabot were the goal scorers for Ottawa, with Shane Pinto contributing two assists. The Senators took control of the game early, with Amadio finding the back of the net just 3:54 into the second period on a two-on-one rush, assisted by Pinto. Chabot then capitalized on a turnover later in the period, scoring his seventh goal of the season at the 9:21 mark.
On the other side, Ducks goaltender Ville Husso faced a demanding night, stopping 27 shots but ultimately falling short. Anaheim attempted to challenge a goal for goaltender interference, but the challenge was unsuccessful.
The Ducks had their opportunities, with Warren Foegele coming close on several chances in the first period. Husso also prevented further damage on a shorthanded breakaway against Amadio and made a significant glove save on Tim Stutzle during a Senators power play.
The game adds to the growing momentum for the Senators, who are looking to maintain their recent success as the season progresses.
