During a recent press conference, Donald Trump wore a distinctive lapel pin resembling a miniature version of himself.
Trump, 79, met with oil and gas executives in the East Room of the White House when Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy noted the previously unseen accessory. He briefly diverted the conversation to inquire about its significance.
In response to Doocy’s question about the pin, displayed beneath Trump’s usual American flag lapel pin, the president explained that it was a gift.
“Someone gave me this,” he announced, lifting it for the room to see. “That’s called a ‘happy Trump.’ ”

However, he added, “I’m never happy, I’m never satisfied,” asserting that he would not be content until “we make America great again.” He expressed a sense of progress, stating, “we are getting pretty close,” before repeating that the pin was a gift: “This is called a ‘happy Trump.’ Someone gave it to me, and I put it on.”
The pin features a cartoon depiction of Trump with an open mouth, furrowed brows, and balled fists.
In another notable moment during the meeting, the president was seated between Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Trump garnered attention when he read a private note from Rubio aloud, which some observers noted could have caused discomfort for the senator.
After calling on Ryan Lance of ConocoPhillips to speak, Trump described how Rubio handed him a handwritten note while Vance looked on, seemingly confused.

After Trump acknowledged receiving the note, he began reading it aloud, drawing attention to the message which suggested that Rubio should “go back to Chevron” to discuss matters. As he read, Vance visibly laughed, while Rubio appeared uncomfortable.
Trump light-heartedly responded, “Go ahead, I’m going back to Chevron,” placing the note back on the table and thanking Rubio.

The January 9 meeting occurred shortly after the United States captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, on January 3. Following this significant event, Trump proclaimed that the United States would “run” Venezuela, asserting the nation’s swift success in capturing Maduro.
“No nation in the world could achieve what America achieved, successfully capturing Maduro in the dead of night,” Trump stated. “We’re going to get the oil flowing the way it should be… we’re gonna run it properly. We’re gonna make sure the people of Venezuela are taken care of.”
