Dolly Martinez from ‘My 600-Lb. Life’ Passes Away at Age 30
Dolly Martinez, a participant in the tenth season of TLC’s My 600-Lb. Life, has tragically passed away at the age of 30. Her sister, Lindsey Cooper, shared the news in a heartfelt statement on Facebook.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beautiful sister, Dolly,” Cooper wrote. “Dolly had the brightest personality that could light up any room with her laughter, kindness, and loving spirit. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her warmth will stay with us forever. While our hearts are broken here, I find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with our dad in heaven. I can only imagine the joy of that reunion.”
Cooper concluded the message with an emotional tribute: “Rest peacefully, Dolly. You will always be loved, always be missed, and never forgotten.”
Just before her passing, Cooper had noted on social media that Martinez was hospitalized and "fighting for her life."
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Martinez was featured as a 25-year-old in an episode of the reality series that aired in 2022. The program follows individuals struggling with severe obesity as they seek weight loss solutions, including bariatric surgery. At the start of her episode, Martinez weighed 593 pounds and required supplemental oxygen. She managed to lose 40 pounds during her journey on the show but was ultimately not approved for a weight-loss procedure after an evaluation by Dr. Nowzaradan.
Martinez is part of a somber list of over two dozen individuals who have appeared on the show and have since died. In recent years, others including Pauline Potter, Destinee Lashaee, and Gina Krasley have also passed away.
