Destin Daniel Cretton Shares His Hollywood Journey in the Marvel Series ‘Wonder Man’
The upcoming series Wonder Man is set to make its mark as a unique addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, distinguished by its Los Angeles backdrop.
Destin Daniel Cretton, the series co-creator, shared insights about the project, emphasizing how he and his team infused their personal experiences in Hollywood into the eight-episode series, now available for streaming on Disney+.
“We wanted to capture the LA and the side of Hollywood that you don’t typically see portrayed on film,” Cretton explained in an interview with Discussing Film. “The non-glitz and glamor side, the living in a one-bedroom apartment that smells like feet, and you can see the Hollywood sign in the distance.”
Cretton elaborated, saying, “And your dream is way over there while you’re eating Top Ramen to survive. That’s the feeling of this show. It was very easy to reproduce because it’s all a part of our experience and our memory.”
