Dennis Quaid Shares His Memories of Lindsay Lohan’s Audition for ‘The Parent Trap’
Dennis Quaid recently reflected on his experience working with Lindsay Lohan in the 1998 film The Parent Trap, highlighting her exceptional acting talent at such a young age.
Lohan, who portrayed twin sisters Annie and Hallie, impressed Quaid during the screen test. He recounted, “I thought there were two people myself. Because she just went right into this English accent.”

Nancy Meyers made her directorial debut with The Parent Trap, which is a remake of the 1961 film featuring Hayley Mills. The original film is based on Erich Kästner’s 1949 German children’s novel Lisa and Lottie (Das doppelte Lottchen).
The movie, which marked Lohan’s breakout role, tells the story of identical twins separated at birth who serendipitously meet at summer camp. Together, they devise a plan to reunite their divorced parents, played by Quaid and Natasha Richardson.
During the same podcast discussion, Quaid also paid tribute to his late co-star, Natasha Richardson, who tragically passed away in 2009 following a skiing accident. He described her as “an incredible person” and expressed a desire to work with her again, stating, “If there’s anybody I’d want to work with again, it would be her. She was a great person, besides being an amazing actor to work with.”
