David Morse Joins the Cast of Mayor of Kingstown for Final Season
In a significant development for the fifth and final season of Mayor of Kingstown, acclaimed actor David Morse is set to join the cast as a regular. Known for his performances in We Were Liars, Morse will star alongside Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco in the Paramount+ drama created by Taylor Sheridan. Production has officially begun on the eight-episode season.
Morse will portray Russell Hardy, a veteran FBI agent dispatched to Kingstown following the murder of Tracy (played by Nishi Munshi) and the subsequent actions taken by Mike (Renner) and Kyle (Taylor Handley). Agent Hardy’s arrival marks a pivotal moment, as he seeks the fugitive Callahan and is poised to uncover Mike’s hidden transgressions, potentially upending the already fragile power dynamics in Kingstown.
In addition to Morse, the lead cast includes Renner, Falco, and Handley, as well as Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster. Returning cast members Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James will also reprise their roles.
Mayor of Kingstown is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. The series, co-created by Oscar nominee Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, boasts an impressive executive production team, which includes Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, and several others. Dave Erickson serves as the showrunner.
Morse is currently featured in Prime Video’s We Were Liars and has appeared in both seasons of Apple TV’s The Last Thing He Told Me. His film credits include Looking Through Water and upcoming projects such as Mayday and Saturn Return. An Emmy nominee for his roles in House and John Adams, Morse has also earned Tony nominations for his work in How I Learned to Drive and the recent revival of The Iceman Cometh. He is represented by Gersh and Kipperman Management.
