Dan Trachtenberg Signs New First-Look Agreement with Paramount
Paramount Pictures has formalized a three-year first-look deal with director and producer Dan Trachtenberg, allowing him to develop, direct, and produce feature projects alongside his producing partner Ben Rosenblatt.
“As a kid, I remember seeing the Paramount logo and dreaming of the epic adventure that would follow,” Trachtenberg remarked. “Now to have the opportunity to bring new huge and emotional stories to giant screens is a literally a dream come true. Ben and I cannot wait to join Dana, Josh, Don, and the entire Paramount team in pursuing our shared vision of making Paramount once again the apex of cinema.”
This agreement marks a significant reunion for Trachtenberg, who launched his career at Paramount with the successful 2016 film, 10 Cloverfield Lane.
“Dan has an extraordinary ability to deliver films that are both daring and deeply entertaining,” said Paramount Pictures Co-Chairs Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg. “He has a rare instinct for tension, scale, and storytelling that connects with audiences worldwide. We’re excited to welcome him to the studio.”
Most recently, Trachtenberg directed Predator: Badlands for Twentieth Century. The film received critical acclaim and commercial success, following his animated feature, Predator: Killer of Killers, released in June on Hulu. He previously helmed Prey, a reimagining of the Predator franchise centered on a young Comanche woman tasked with hunting a Predator to save her community.
Ben Rosenblatt, who co-produced 10 Cloverfield Lane, has also worked on projects such as the Snowpiercer and Ripley series, as well as Trachtenberg’s contributions to the Predator films.
Trachtenberg is represented by CAA, Untitled, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
