Crystal Hefner Shares the Heartfelt Story Behind Her Wedding Band with James Ward
Crystal Hefner Marries James Ward in Heartfelt Ceremony
Crystal Hefner, 39, recently married James Ward in a meaningful ceremony held on April 2. The union was marked by a poignant tribute to her late father, Ray Harris, with Hefner wearing his pinky ring as her wedding band. “My wedding band was my late father’s ring, who I miss so much,” she shared exclusively with Us Weekly.
The simple gold band bears special significance, complemented by Ward’s wedding ring, which features Hawaiian flowers and leaves etched inside to represent their shared life and where they first met. Hefner expressed her contentment with the rings, emphasizing their connection.
On the day of the wedding, Crystal donned a striking plunging lace gown designed by Oksana Mukha. “I wanted a beautiful, dramatic white wedding dress and OKSANA MUKHA delivered,” she remarked, describing the gown, which included 5,400 crystals and a stunning train. She added, “The dress was stunning against the sandbar and island backdrop. I truly felt just so happy in it. It fit perfectly.”
The couple exchanged vows on the picturesque island of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands, celebrating in a ceremony that Crystal described as “simple and beautiful.” A live band entertained attendees with a mix of local and American songs, including a tribute to her father by performing one of his beloved tunes. “We definitely felt he was there with us,” she noted.
Crystal emphasized the efforts made by her loved ones to create a memorable day, highlighting a private dinner organized by Ward that followed the ceremony.
In April of last year, Ward proposed to Crystal in Hawaii with a six-carat vintage mine-cut diamond, marking a significant moment in their relationship. Reflecting on the engagement, Crystal recalled how the spot became symbolic for them. “I thought we were just going for a walk, but when I saw the flowers, the handwritten notes, and the sea stretching endlessly in front of us, I knew something extraordinary was about to happen,” she expressed.
Crystal was previously married to Hugh Hefner from 2012 until his death in 2017. In a personal decision last year, she petitioned to change her name back to her maiden name, Crystal Margaret Harris.
As Crystal and James embark on this new chapter together, the heartfelt ceremonies and tender memories of family resonate deeply, underscoring the love and commitment that defines their relationship.
