Paramount+ Renews Criminal Minds: Evolution for 20th Season, Announces Season 19 Premiere
In a significant announcement on Tuesday, Paramount+ confirmed the renewal of Criminal Minds: Evolution for a 20th season, set to premiere in 2027. The streaming service also revealed that Season 19 will debut on May 28, along with a teaser offering a glimpse of the upcoming season.
Season 19 is expected to feature an impressive lineup of guest stars, including Connor Storrie from Heated Rivalry, Justin Kirk (Angels in America), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community). Other notable appearances will be made by Clark Gregg from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Paul F. Tompkins (Bojack Horseman), Cress Williams (Black Lightning), Kofi Siriboe (Queen Sugar), Lyndon Smith (Step Sisters), Richard Cabral (Mayans), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek Voyager), and more.
The series stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, and RJ Hatanaka, along with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. Criminal Minds: Evolution follows the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, tasked with profiling and apprehending some of the nation’s most dangerous criminals.
In Season 18, the series delved into discussions of serial killers and sadistic psychopaths, focusing on Elias Voit, portrayed by Zach Gilford. The storyline unfolded six months after prison attacks on Voit, pushing his followers on the dark web to escalate their violent actions across the country. To combat this threat, the BAU engaged in a turbulent "real-life game of Clue,” collaborating with the unpredictable Voit as they worked to thwart further violence.
Criminal Minds: Evolution is produced by 20th Television and CBS Studios, with Erica Messer serving as showrunner and executive producer. She is joined by executive producers Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw, and Mark Gordon.
