Coyote Euthanized After Attacking Young Boy in Carson, California

CARSON, Calif. – A coyote that attacked a four-year-old boy in Carson has been captured and euthanized by state wildlife authorities. This incident has raised concerns as officials investigate whether this animal was involved in additional attacks in the area.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed on Thursday that the coyote responsible for the morning attack on Solomon was "humanely euthanized" shortly after being located. The attack occurred on Tuesday at around 9 a.m. on Moorehaven Drive while the boy’s mother was unloading groceries.

DNA testing linked this coyote to a previous incident on February 11, raising alarms about its aggressive behavior. Solomon’s grandfather reported that the boy is in good spirits despite suffering seven puncture wounds and undergoing rabies treatment.

In addition to Solomon, two other individuals have come forward claiming they were attacked on March 26 and March 30. Authorities are testing their DNA samples to determine if the same coyote is responsible, or if another aggressive animal remains in the vicinity, particularly near Ambler Avenue Elementary School.

"When it bit me, it was trying to drag me," Solomon recalled of the frightening moment. His mother expressed her fears during the attack, stating, "I was so scared because I know how bad it could have been."

Local residents have reported feeling anxious following these events. One neighbor, who operates a daycare, mentioned that she now carries an air horn and a golf club for protection while supervising children at the park.
