Cory Michael Smith, Vic Carmen Sonne, and Tamara Podemski Team Up with Daniel Zolghadri in New Horror Film ‘The Temple’
New Horror Film "The Temple" Enlists Notable Cast as Production Begins
Cory Michael Smith, Vic Carmen Sonne, and Tamara Podemski have joined Daniel Zolghadri in the cast of The Temple, a horror film directed by Calvin Thomas and Yonah Lewis. The project, which was first reported in November 2024, is now in production in Toronto.
The Temple centers around Jonathan Baby, an orphaned millionaire who seeks the assistance of a radiation scientist to connect with the spirits of his deceased parents.
Co-written by Lev Lewis, who also serves as the film’s editor and composer, the project marks the fifth feature from Canadian writer-directors Thomas and Lewis. Their previous works include White Lie and The Oxbow Cure.
Discussing the inspiration behind the film, director Yonah Lewis shared, “A year after my mother’s death, I moved into the house she died in. I don’t believe in ghosts, but I quickly found myself wondering if I would feel her presence at all—almost hoping for it. This quickly sparked an idea for Calvin and me. What if someone wasn’t afraid of the ghosts? What if that person wanted to be in that haunted house?”
The film is produced by Lindsay Tapscott and Katie Bird Nolan from Babe Nation Films, along with Thomas and Lewis of Lisa Pictures, Alison Almeida, and Ryan Bobkin. Executive producers include Neil Mathieson of Arbitrage Pictures, Elevation Pictures, and Urban Post Productions. Elevation Pictures will distribute the film in Canada, with international sales currently underway.

Cory Michael Smith has made appearances in recent projects such as Mountainhead, Sentimental Value, and Saturday Night. He will soon feature alongside Dakota Fanning and Jake Johnson in the indie drama The Sun Never Sets, premiering at SXSW. Additionally, Smith will appear in A24’s Famous with Zac Efron and the hostage thriller October from Jeremy Saulnier.
Vic Carmen Sonne, known for her role in the Oscar-nominated international film The Girl with the Needle, is represented by UTA, Behind the Scene, and Brookside Artist Management.
Tamara Podemski, recently seen in series like Outer Range and Murderbot, is represented by Buchwald, Circle Management + Production, and Play Management.
