Corey Hawkins Joins Mila Kunis in Upcoming Thriller "Nightwatching"
Corey Hawkins will co-star with Mila Kunis in the thriller Nightwatching, an adaptation of Tracy Sierra’s debut novel. Directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, the screenplay was initially penned by Laura Moss and Brendan J. O’Brien, with a revised draft by TJ Cimfel and David White.
The film will be distributed internationally by Amazon MGM Studios, and is produced by a prominent team, including Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, and Sam Roston for Scott Free Productions, Erik Feig, Jessica Switch, and Emily Wissink for Picturestart, and Kunis alongside Lisa Sterbakov through Kunis’ newly established production company, Brick for Sheep. Production oversight will be handled by Roston and Avital Siegel for Scott Free.
Graham Taylor and Christopher Slager will serve as executive producers for Fifth Season, which is also financing the project. Justin Alvarado Brown will executive produce for Scott Free.
Nightwatching follows Lee, a mother who, during a fierce winter storm, discovers an intruder in her home. What begins as a seemingly ordinary night quickly transforms into a fight for survival. As she strives to protect her children, Lee finds herself engulfed in a chilling game of fear and uncertainty, questioning both the intentions of the intruder and her own sense of safety. The film promises a gripping exploration of the thin line between security and terror, showcasing the lengths a parent will go to when faced with imminent danger.
In the movie, Hawkins portrays the police officer assigned to handle Lee’s home invasion case.
Domestic distribution rights are represented by CAA Media Finance and WME Independent.
Looking ahead, Hawkins will appear in the Amazon MGM Studios thriller Crime 101, alongside Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Barry Keoghan. He will also star in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, featuring a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Rob Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, and Lupita Nyong’o. Furthermore, Hawkins is set to lead in Nadia Latif’s adaptation of Walter Mosley’s novel The Man in My Basement, which premiered at TIFF 2025.
Most recently, Hawkins was seen in Malcolm Washington’s The Piano Lesson for Netflix, featuring John David Washington, Sam Jackson, and Danielle Deadwyler. The film made its debut at the Telluride Film Festival before being showcased at TIFF and in London.
