Comedian Frankie Quiñones Signs Deal with Fox Entertainment Studios for New TV Projects
Frankie Quiñones Signs Development Deal with Fox Entertainment Studios
Frankie Quiñones has entered into a development agreement with Fox Entertainment Studios that will allow him to co-write and star in a new scripted television comedy. This announcement coincides with the upcoming SXSW premiere of Plantman & Blondie: A Dress Up Gang Film, the inaugural feature from The Dress Up Gang, a comedy troupe of which Quiñones is a member.
"Frankie is the kind of multi-hyphenate talent we’re always looking to build with," stated Hannah Pillemer, Head of Scripted at Fox Entertainment Studios. "He brings an unmistakable point of view, distinct originality, and characters that resonate far beyond the laughs and comedic precision. His unique ability to ground bold, irreverent comedy in heart and authenticity enables strong audience connections. We’re excited to partner with him to develop a series that showcases his voice and expands his creative footprint in a meaningful way."
Commenting on the collaboration, Quiñones expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m thrilled to be partnering with FOX Entertainment Studios on this next chapter. Comedy has always been about bringing people together and telling stories that feel real to me and the communities I come from.”
Based in Los Angeles, Quiñones is recognized for his viral character, Creeper, and his role in the Hulu series This Fool. Earlier this year, his one-hour special, Damn That’s Crazy, directed by Ali Wong, was released on Hulu.
Currently, Quiñones is recurring on NBC’s Denis Medical and recently filmed a part in the untitled NBC Native American Community Center Comedy pilot. He has also appeared in FX’s What We Do in the Shadows and is set to feature in Tom Segura’s indie film El Tigre, as well as Netflix’s The Fifth Wheel, alongside Kim Kardashian, Nikki Glaser, and Kristen Wiig.
Plantman & Blondie: A Dress Up Gang Film, produced under Fox Entertainment Studios’ Tideline Entertainment banner in collaboration with Mountain Top Pictures, premieres at SXSW on March 14. This offbeat comedy follows Cory, a lonely tech worker who becomes involved in a quirky Los Angeles underground world of plant-loving vigilantes. At the festival, Quiñones will participate in the FES Comedy Showcase Featuring The Dress Up Gang and Friends, hosted by Bill Burr.
Fox Entertainment Studios is known for a range of unscripted series, including The Masked Singer, I Can See Your Voice, and Name That Tune, as well as scripted comedies such as Animal Control, Going Dutch, and Best Medicine. The studio also manages renowned animation studio Bento Box Entertainment, producing animated comedies like Krapopolis, Grimsburg, Hazbin Hotel, and Universal Basic Guys, in addition to the entertainment platform TMZ and indie film label Tideline Entertainment, recognized for award-winning releases including Ponyboi and Slanted.
Quiñones is represented by UTA, OPE Partners, and Hansen, Jacobsen, Teller.
