COL Group Launches Convenient Microdrama In A Box App at FilMart
Microdrama apps have gained significant traction recently, and they are now entering the market in a new format.
COL Group, a major player in China, has partnered with Nasdaq-listed BeLive Holdings to introduce what they describe as the world’s first fully-integrated ‘Microdrama in a Box’ solution.
Unveiled at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FilMart), this turnkey app solution combines “enterprise-grade SaaS infrastructure with access to the largest curated microdrama catalogue globally.” This allows businesses to purchase a ready-made microdrama app complete with content available on launch day.
BeLive’s Yeon Studios will supply the microdrama delivery platform, while COL will provide a steady stream of microdrama intellectual property. Buyers can expect to have their app operational within 30 days of purchase.
The solution also includes a microdrama ecosystem comprising a vertical episodic playback engine tailored for series consumption, built-in gamification and reward systems designed to enhance user retention, as well as advertising and hybrid subscription monetization frameworks. Additional features include multi-language AI subtitling and optional commerce integration.
The rationale behind this offering is rooted in the existing disparity between microdrama infrastructure in China and the U.S. and its operational readiness in other regions. The partners claim a lack of infrastructure, content depth, and operational guidelines is hindering market expansion.
COL Group International. “Microdrama has already proven its engagement and monetization strength in the U.S. and China. By packaging enterprise-grade SaaS with the world’s largest microdrama catalogue into one integrated solution, we’re eliminating operational complexities for our partners. This allows them to concentrate on brand positioning and go-to-market strategies, while we take care of content curation and platform optimization.”
COL Group has established itself as a pioneer in microdrama and is increasingly looking to international markets. Recently, it announced a series of deals at MIP London, appointing distributors for its content in Europe and Latin America.
Latif Sim, Executive Director of BeLive Holdings, remarked that this collaboration represents a broader goal to advance a new ‘story economy.’
“This partnership with COL Group is more than just launching a product; it’s about creating a new model for the story economy. Together, we are transforming microdrama from platform-dependent content into owned, scalable infrastructure.”
