Coco Jones Shares Her Journey from Doubt to Excitement About the 2026 Grammy Nominations
Coco Jones Receives Eighth Grammy Nomination for ‘Why Not More?’
Coco Jones has secured her eighth career Grammy nomination in the Best R&B Album category for her debut full-length release, Why Not More? This announcement comes shortly after Jones won her first Grammy for Best R&B Performance with her hit single “ICU” in 2024.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Jones reflected on the nomination process, revealing that she intentionally tried to set aside thoughts of the impending announcements. "I’ve been gaslighting myself into not thinking about this," she explained, recalling how her phone buzzed with notifications as soon as she connected to Wi-Fi on a flight.
The singer’s latest nomination marks a pivotal moment in her career, particularly as she transitions from being recognized for singles to full album recognition. "I feel like it’s the biggest compliment to keep people’s attention," she stated. "I mean, I don’t know many things that do."
Released in April, Why Not More? features the previously Grammy-nominated single “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” and includes collaborations with artists such as YG Marley, Future, Alicia Keys, and Leon Thomas on the deluxe version.

For Jones, who began her music career as a child star on Disney Channel, this nomination signifies an important transition. "I feel like it’s the biggest compliment to keep people’s attention," she remarked, emphasizing the significance of this particular recognition.
As she continues to promote her album with world tours and performances—including opening for Brandy and Monica on their highly anticipated The Boy Is Mine tour—Jones expressed a newfound confidence in her artistic decisions. "Creatively, this time a lot of the yeses and nos were up to me," she shared, highlighting her growth since her early performances.
The upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards are scheduled to air live on CBS and Paramount+ on February 1.
