Claudia Schiffer Dazzles in a Bedazzled LBD at Royal Event with Kate Middleton
Claudia Schiffer Graces Royal State Banquet
Claudia Schiffer made a surprising appearance at the British royal family’s state banquet on December 3, joining Kate Middleton and Prince William in a lavish celebration hosted in honor of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The event, held at Windsor Castle, was marked by notable fashion choices, particularly for Princess Kate, who wore a tiara for the first time. Schiffer, known as one of the leading figures in the fashion industry, arrived in a striking black velvet gown embellished with beads and jewels. The high-neck dress featured padded shoulders and a front leg slit that highlighted her pointed-toe kitten heels. Her blonde hair cascaded in waves, complemented by understated makeup featuring fringed lashes and a nude pink lip.
Accompanying Schiffer was her husband, Matthew Vaughn, recently appointed a Knight Bachelor during the 2025 U.K. Resignation Honours, thus elevating Schiffer’s title to Lady.
Princess Kate also stood out at the banquet, dazzling in a bedazzled Jenny Packham cape gown paired with the rarely seen Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara—the fifth tiara in her collection. Originally created for Queen Victoria in 1853, this iconic piece was last worn by Queen Elizabeth in 2006.
The evening not only celebrated royal ties between the U.K. and Germany but also showcased the enduring elegance of both attendees and their historic fashion choices.
