On January 4, comedian Chloe Fineman took to Instagram to share a series of candid photos from her “Botched” iPhone photo album, featuring her post-treatment looks, many displaying a red or swollen face. The images highlighted the often humorous side of cosmetic procedures.
In a playful voiceover, Fineman noted, “Every year, hundreds of women will say they’re going on a trip or visiting family in Connecticut. But really, they’ll be going ham at a med spa doing crazy stuff like laser treatments, salmon injections, sculptra plaster, or whatever the hell this was.” The selfies, predominantly taken in the comforts of her bed, revealed the realities of her experiences.
She added a light-hearted comment on the subject: “These women will hide themselves away in caves like bears while taking hundreds of selfies like this to send to friends and family who will lie and say, ‘It’s not that bad.’” Delving into the realities of societal pressure around beauty treatments, she humorously declared, “This year, I pledge to stop the cycle,” before jokingly announcing her next spa visit scheduled for Friday.
The post received a flurry of responses from friends, including fellow comedian Annie Sertich, who reminisced about a time Fineman sent her a selfie before a performance, asking, “Do you think I can still perform tonight at The Groundlings? It’s not that bad.” Keke Palmer also chimed in, playfully commenting, “You always looked good but I do feel you became like 17 real quick. DM me the deets.” Many others expressed their relatability, with several users remarking, “I feel so seen.”

Fineman has openly discussed her passion for beauty and style, reflecting on the various cosmetic procedures she has undergone. In a previous interview with *Into The Gloss*, she remarked that being in her 30s places her at the “peak med spa mistake age,” joking about her experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She recalled, “When they lifted enough restrictions in L.A., I was like, ‘This is the time to get Botox because no one will see me for probably six months.’ But then I couldn’t lift my forehead until just before we came back to work — and for comedy and acting, you want to be able to move your face.”

Fineman also recounted her intention to receive a laser treatment before her first Met Gala, only to find herself unexpectedly undergoing the Fraxel treatment, which left her housebound for a week. “I wanted a subtle change in my lips, but then they became swollen and way out there. Every six months, I feel like I tell my makeup artist, ‘Sorry, I made a mistake. Whoops.’”
