Exclusive: Yuri Rutman Signs with International Agency Dry Blue
Yuri Rutman, known for his roles in Chicago P.D. and The Unit, has officially signed with international agency Dry Blue. The actor, producer, and director will be represented by Rebecka Johnston from the agency’s newly established office in Budapest, Hungary.
“Yuri represents the kind of globally-minded creative we are excited to champion,” Johnston remarked. “He is not only an actor but a storyteller with vision—someone who understands both the creative and entrepreneurial sides of this industry. As a native English speaker and multilingual in Russian, his creative vision and range make him a perfect client for Dry Blue’s expanding global presence.”
Rutman recently showcased his multifaceted talent by writing, directing, and starring in the short film Trained, which has been acquired by Shorts.TV, a platform that features Academy Award-nominated shorts.
Born in Ukraine and raised in Chicago, Rutman has spent significant time in Los Angeles before moving to Budapest. He is currently developing a new project, The Violinist, described as an epic Ukrainian-Jewish immigrant crime drama set in Chicago.
“Budapest is quickly becoming one of the most exciting places in the world for film and television,” Rutman noted. “I’m honored to join Dry Blue at this pivotal moment and look forward to expanding my work internationally.”
Dry Blue, founded by Thomas Philip Brunney and Nicholas Brunney in London, operates offices in the UK, France, Italy, and the U.S., with its new Hungarian base aimed at positioning Budapest as a key link between European production centers and Hollywood. The agency boasts a roster of over 500 clients, including notable names such as Joseph Baena, William McNamara, Sharni Vinson, and Langston Fishburne.
