Chase Rice has announced a break from touring, citing exhaustion from a demanding schedule. The country music star, 40, made the revelation in an Instagram post on January 7.
"This isn’t a goodbye thing or anything like that to be clear upfront, although it may feel like that," he stated, addressing fans with a video montage of past performances. "I’ve been touring for 13 years and I’ve lived a dream far greater than I could’ve ever expected. But, I’m exhausted."
Rice elaborated on the impact of his long touring history, stating that he hasn’t been able to fully enjoy his music or connect with audiences in recent times. "I love songs, I love living them, hearing stories from other people, and figuring out how to put that life into music," he noted.
He further explained, "After 13 years, it’s finally beat me up to the point where I need to step away for a while." Known for his breakout on Survivor: Nicaragua in 2010, Rice first gained widespread recognition after the release of his album Ignite the Night in 2014. He co-wrote Florida Georgia Line’s hit "Cruise" and has produced popular tracks like "Ready Set Roll," "Gonna Wanna Tonight," "Eyes on You," and "Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen."
In the past three years, Rice has released three albums—I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go to Hell, Go Down Singin, and ELDORA—while maintaining a rigorous tour schedule. "I need to go live life so that I have more real experiences to write down," he continued in his post. "A lot of artists do this all the time, but it’s new for me, so it’s kind of a big deal in my life."
He expressed gratitude toward his band and crew for their unwavering support, saying, "You’ve seen me at my worst yet you still love me back like I’ve lived my best." Looking ahead, he expressed hope for future collaborations and shared moments on stage.

Rice also conveyed his appreciation for the fans who have supported him throughout his career, acknowledging their role in making his dreams a reality. While he will have a limited number of performances this year, he clarified that they will differ significantly from his past tours. "I hope this year brings new experiences for me to put into songs that will make y’all happy," he added.
In a previous interview, Rice had expressed aspirations for a family, stating, "Whether it happens, or I am married or not, time will tell. But I’d obviously like to do it with the right woman."
