Charlotte Church has recently made headlines for adopting an unconventional beauty routine.
During a conversation on the Walking the Dog podcast with host Emily Dean, the 39-year-old singer expressed surprise when Dean complimented her scent, responding, “Do I? That’s surprising.”
“I never smell nice,” she noted. “I don’t wear deodorant or anything, so I generally stink.”
When Dean inquired about when she stopped wearing deodorant, Church clarified, “I don’t shave anymore. I don’t shave anything. When did I stop? I probably stopped shaving 18 months ago, maybe even longer than that. Maybe two years?”

Church shared her reasoning for this decision, stating, “I just started thinking like, ‘This underarm area, there’s so many receptors there, lymph and all sorts of stuff going on there. I’m just not sure about putting all this chemical stuff in your pores, because your skin is the largest organ in the body.”
Despite her new lifestyle, Church emphasized that she isn’t advocating for others to follow suit. “Each to their own. Do you know what I mean? Crack on and have a lovely time and do whatever feels good — dye it, shave it, whatever — but for me I’m just like ‘Nah!’ ” she stated.
Church, who also appeared on Celebrity Traitors UK, acknowledged the “contradiction” of wearing elegant dresses paired with “really hairy legs,” noting, “It’s so confusing for people.”
She further elaborated on her fashion choices, mentioning her preference for outfits that accentuate her cleavage: “I’ve got my boobs out for the majority of the time.”
“I think they’re a great litmus test…or ‘Titmus Test’ as my husband says! Because it really separates out the pervs immediately,” she said. “So you can immediately go, ‘Okay, well you’re really struggling with looking at my face!’ But it also separates out those who are maybe deeply conservative or deeply religious.”

Church concluded by expressing that varying opinions about her choices are “not necessarily a bad thing,” as they contribute to her discernment.
After Church’s candid discussion, Dean remarked, “I’m going to do the Charlotte Church way now.”
“It’s so liberating,” Church replied, “I feel much sexier.”
