Charles Wachter Launches New Production Company, Stopwatch Media

Charles Wachter, known for his executive production roles in notable reality shows such as Amazon’s Beast Games, Netflix’s Million Dollar Secret, and Hulu’s Got to Get Out, has announced the launch of his new production company, Stopwatch Media.

Based in Toronto, Stopwatch Media is a collaboration with Spain’s The Mediapro Studio. Wachter has brought numerous productions to Canada over the years, reinforcing a trend of U.S. shows expanding northward.

The new company aims to develop scalable formats for both U.S. networks and the international market. Wachter’s extensive credits include Netflix’s upcoming Win the Mall, Fox’s Stars on Mars, and ABC’s Holey Moley.

In 2021, Wachter previously established Hard North Media with backing from All3Media. He expressed ambitious goals for Stopwatch Media, stating, “Capitalizing on the trend of U.S. shows coming to Canada, this is about putting a flag in the ground and building out the production infrastructure to deliver ambitious, globally relevant shows. With The Mediapro Studio behind us, we have the scale, freedom, and ambition to chase ideas that can break through in the U.S. and beyond.”
