Chappell Roan, Mariah Carey, Post Malone, Leon Thomas, Charlie Puth, and HUNTR/X, known for their global hit “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters, are among the 38 performers announced for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026. This star-studded lineup includes both emerging artists and seasoned veterans like Rick Springfield, New Kids on the Block, 4 Non Blondes, and Goo Goo Dolls.
Scheduled to air from Wednesday, December 31, at 8:00 p.m. to the following morning at 4:00 a.m. ET on ABC, this year’s show will mark its 54th edition—a significant milestone since its debut in December 1972. It promises to be the longest telecast in the event’s history, featuring an additional 90 minutes of programming and over 85 songs.
Ryan Seacrest will return as host, accompanied by co-host Rita Ora from New York’s Times Square. Chicago native Chance the Rapper will make history as the host for the first-ever Central time zone countdown from Chicago. Meanwhile, NFL legend Rob Gronkowski will return, joining performer Julianne Hough, who will co-host for the first time in Las Vegas.
Details regarding the Times Square headliner and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks, along with information about a celebration in Puerto Rico.
For the third consecutive year, Dick Clark Productions and iHeartMedia will broadcast the event live across 150 iHeartRadio stations nationwide, including Z100 New York and KIIS-FM Los Angeles. The event will also be available for streaming on the iHeartRadio app.
Since surpassing Guy Lombardo’s long-running specials on CBS, ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve has been the top New Year’s Eve celebration since 1977.
Initially conceived as a contemporary alternative, the show debuted on NBC in 1972 as Three Dog Night’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, featuring performances from Helen Reddy and Billy Preston. Following a successful run, the program moved to ABC starting with the December 1974 edition, when Clark took over hosting duties.
Clark passed away in 2012 but his legacy continues through the show that carries his name. Last year, Carrie Underwood wrapped up the night in Times Square, contributing to a broadcast viewership of over 29 million.
The upcoming show is produced by Dick Clark Productions, with Ryan Seacrest, Michael Dempsey, and Barry Adelman serving as executive producers.
