Chappell Roan Elevates the Sheer Dress Trend at the 2026 Grammys Red Carpet
Chappell Roan made a bold impression at the 2026 Grammy Awards, capturing the spotlight as she arrived at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Her sheer dress quickly turned heads, marking another standout moment in a career defined by striking fashion choices.
This year’s appearance follows a vibrant showing at last year’s Grammys, where Roan dazzled in a colorful, maximalist ensemble that paid homage to historical artworks. That night, she not only celebrated the achievements of others but also took home the prestigious award for Best New Artist, cementing her place in the industry.
For the 2026 event, Roan opted for a more understated yet no less captivating look. Nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, she was also responsible for introducing the 2026 Best New Artist, awarded to newcomer Olivia Dean. Her gown, crafted from translucent garnet-colored chiffon, featured a daring draped cowl neckline, accentuated by her nipple rings. Temporary tattoos in matching tones further expressed her artistic flair.
The custom gown, styled by Genesis Webb, hails from Mugler and was designed by Miguel Castro Freitas. It features a deep red garnet draped georgette négligée, paired with a coordinating cape for added modesty—an homage to Manfred Thierry Mugler’s Spring-Summer 1998 couture collection.

Adding to her striking appearance, Roan accessorized with a gold choker intertwined with pink gemstones, enhancing the gothic romanticism of her look. Her copper-red hair was styled with playful curly bangs and mermaid braids, complemented by a dramatic smokey eye that rounded out her ensemble.
