Chaka Khan has issued a stern warning to her fans about misleading information associated with her name. On January 8, the Grammy-winning artist and her team took to social media to address a wave of “fake, AI-generated” stories that have proliferated online.
“Chaka & her team want to remind everyone to be cautious about fake, AI-generated ‘news’ circulating on Facebook and elsewhere. These stories are not real,” the statement highlighted.
The 72-year-old singer emphasized authenticity, stating, “If it isn’t coming directly from Chaka’s official social channels or ChakaKhan.com, it shouldn’t be trusted. Please don’t click, comment on, or share those posts. Any interaction only helps scammers spread them further.”
Additionally, the statement directed fans to authenticate sources for reliable updates. “For the real updates, subscribe to Chaka’s official newsletter at ChakaKhan.com. That’s where the real news lives, including what’s coming in 2026,” the note concluded with a reference to a link featuring a Neil deGrasse Tyson video discussing the distinction between real and AI-generated news.
This month, several misleading stories have been circulated, including announcements of multiple farewell tours and documentaries, along with AI-generated images suggesting Khan is pregnant or recuperating from surgery.
In actual news, Khan is set to receive recognition at We Are Moving the Needle’s annual Resonator Awards on January 27 at Chaplin Studios in Los Angeles.

Sia will present Khan with the Luminary Award, which acknowledges “a creator whose profound impact has transcended the confines of the music realm to significantly change culture,” as stated in a press release. “A true luminary, their artistry is a beacon of inspiration not only to those within the industry but also to the world.”
In an April interview with The Guardian, Khan revealed she’s collaborating with Sia on an exciting project. “This is something we’ve been working on for a year now, and it’s killing us, because we keep coming up with more great music to do!” she said. “We can’t finish, because we’ve got so much to give. It’s beautiful.”
The two artists previously worked together on the song “Immortal Queen” from Sia’s 2024 album, Reasonable Woman.
