Raven-Symoné has officially turned 40. The actress began her career at the young age of three, captivating audiences as Olivia Kendall on The Cosby Show. Throughout the years, she has built an impressive career, featuring in classics like The Little Rascals, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, Doctor Dolittle, and Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century.
In 2003, she became a household name with her own Disney show, That’s So Raven, which became a significant part of the Disney Channel’s lineup and ran for four successful seasons. Despite her achievements, Symoné has been transparent about the pressures of fame. At age 15, she underwent her first breast reduction, a decision influenced by comments from those in the industry.
"I went from a triple D all the way down to a B. Someone said I needed to do it in order to get a show,” she shared on her podcast Tea Time with Raven & Miranda. Her father also “suggested strongly” that she consider the procedure.
In 2013, Raven-Symoné publicly came out as gay in a statement celebrating the legalization of same-sex marriage in the U.S. “I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted,” she remarked at the time.
Seven years later, she married Miranda Pearman-Maday in June 2020, and the couple now co-hosts a podcast together. As Raven-Symoné celebrates her milestone birthday today, nostalgia surrounds her early career with a look back at some memorable moments from her journey.
