Carrie’s Mike Flanagan Signs Exciting New Multi-Year Deal with Amazon MGM Studios
Amazon MGM Studios secures deal with filmmaker Mike Flanagan
Amazon MGM Studios has entered into a multi-year exclusive agreement with filmmaker and showrunner Mike Flanagan, under which he will create and produce original series for the studio.
This new collaboration with Flanagan’s Red Room Pictures extends the studio’s partnership with a prominent figure in genre storytelling. The deal follows the completion of Flanagan’s television adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie for Amazon, marking his first project under this agreement.
Flanagan brings extensive experience, having written, directed, edited, and produced eight feature films. His notable works include adaptations of Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game, along with titles like Ouija: Origin of Evil, Hush, Before I Wake, Oculus, Absentia, and the upcoming The Life of Chuck. The latter film recently won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Flanagan is also developing a new take on The Exorcist for Blumhouse and Universal Pictures.
In television, Flanagan’s portfolio includes creation and direction of genre series such as The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Midnight Club, and The Haunting of Hill House.
Flanagan is represented by WME and VanderKloot Law.
