Carrie Anne Fleming, Beloved Actress from ‘iZombie’ and ‘Supernatural,’ Passes Away at 51
Carrie Anne Fleming, a Canadian actress renowned for her roles in television series such as iZombie and Supernatural, has passed away at the age of 51. Fleming died on February 26 in Sidney, British Columbia, due to complications related to breast cancer.
Born on August 16, 1974, in Digby, Nova Scotia, Fleming attended Mount Douglas Senior Secondary in Victoria, British Columbia. She pursued her passion for the arts, studying drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and dance at Kidco Theatre Dance Company.
Following her graduation, Fleming began modeling to help support her family, eventually transitioning into acting. Her career spanned three decades, commencing with an uncredited role in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore and a part in the TV movie Viper.
Fleming accrued numerous television credits, featuring in series such as Smallville, The L Word, The 4400, unREAL, and Supergirl. Her filmography includes appearances in Good Luck Chuck, Married Life, That Burning Feeling, and Rememory.
Notably, Fleming carved a niche for herself in supernatural and sci-fi genres, with significant roles that included her portrayal of Karen Singer, the wife of Bobby Singer (played by Jim Beaver), on Supernatural. She also made a memorable impact in a recurring role as Candy Baker on iZombie, which aired for five seasons.
In a standout performance in a 2005 episode of Masters of Horror titled “Jenifer,” Fleming played the titular character, a woman with a facial deformity.
Beyond television and film, Fleming was actively involved in the British Columbia theater community, with stage appearances in productions such as Romeo and Juliet, Fame, and Steel Magnolias. She is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose.
