Cardi B took to social media to express her frustrations during a Spaces session on X on January 5. The Grammy-winning artist responded to a fan who suggested she should stop engaging online and “act like a celebrity.”
In a recorded snippet, Cardi, who turned 33 in October, asserted, “I gotta express myself.” She elaborated, stating that expressing her feelings benefits her mental health.
“When I express myself, I feel way much motherf—ing better,” she articulated, urging the fan to reconsider their advice. “The f—? Are you this motherf—ing famous? Talk to me when you this motherf—ing famous.” Cardi emphasized that those in similarly high-profile situations could offer advice.
She concluded her passionate response with, “Don’t tell me how to motherf—ing feel. You ain’t in my motherf—ing shoes.”
This outburst followed a video she posted on December 29, where she addressed the negative attention surrounding her relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs. In that clip, she asked fans to be kinder, noting, “Y’all need to calm down. Y’all been dragging me for three or four days and y’all been a little bit too mean.”
Cardi elaborated on her personal circumstances, saying, “I can’t change s—. I can’t go back in time. I already had a baby. Y’all want me to put my baby back in my p—-? I don’t know what y’all want me to do. Y’all want me to leave my man?”
Diggs, 32, recently faced serious legal issues, being accused of assaulting a female chef at his Massachusetts home. A police report detailed allegations that he slapped and choked the woman on December 2. Diggs has been charged with strangulation and misdemeanor assault, and his arraignment is scheduled for January 23, 2025. His attorney has stated that the allegations are categorically denied.

Addressing the allegations against Diggs, his attorney emphasized that the claims are “unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated.” They suggest that the timing of the allegations is linked to a financial dispute between Diggs and the employee.
Cardi and Diggs welcomed their first child together, a boy, in November. According to Cardi’s representative, both mother and baby are “healthy and happy.”
In her December 29 video, Cardi also expressed concerns about her workload. “I have so much work to do once January starts,” she stated. “I need my support system, my fans, to love me. I want you to come to my tour and enjoy yourself with me. Don’t be dragging me. It’s enough, alright, it’s enough.”
