Fatal Collision Between Truck and Metrolink Train in Camarillo

A tragic accident in Camarillo on Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of a truck driver following a collision with a Metrolink train. The incident occurred on Las Posas Road near 5th Street at a railroad crossing, according to officials from the Ventura County Fire Department.

Authorities reported that the driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene, with no additional passengers in the vehicle. The identity, age, and gender of the deceased have not yet been released.

The Metrolink train was carrying 16 individuals, including two crew members. Fortunately, none of the passengers sustained injuries, as confirmed by Ventura County officials.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway, led by the California Highway Patrol.
