Cannes: Studiocanal Introduces Jeanne Herry’s Palme D’Or Contender ‘Another Day’ with a Sneak Peek
Studiocanal to Handle Sales for Jeanne Herry’s Cannes Contender "Another Day"
Studiocanal has taken on sales for Jeanne Herry’s upcoming film, "Another Day" (titled "Garance"), which has been selected as a contender for the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. The announcement was made during a traditional press conference in Paris on Thursday, where the film’s first look featuring Adèle Exarchopoulos in the lead role was also revealed.
In "Another Day," Exarchopoulos portrays Garance, a talented young actress whose raw charisma and vibrant personality have yet to secure her the acclaim she desires. Living in a modest Paris apartment and struggling to make ends meet, Garance wrestles with fleeting relationships, growing anxiety, and an alcohol addiction that increasingly tightens its grip on her life.
As she tends to her ailing younger sister and navigates a budding romance with Pauline, played by Sara Giraudeau, Garance finds a delicate lifeline. These evolving relationships inspire her to confront the personal darkness she has long evaded, leading her on a challenging but transformative path toward self-renewal.
The film is produced by longtime collaborators Alain Attal from Trésor Films and Hugo Sélignac from Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, who have previously worked together on impactful projects such as Gilles Lellouche’s Cannes breakout hit, "Beating Hearts."
Studiocanal not only joins as a co-producer but will also handle the international distribution of the film.
Herry, recognized for her acclaimed 2023 drama "All Your Faces," explores themes of healing through the lens of restorative justice, bringing both victims and perpetrators together to foster dialogue and address their trauma.
Exarchopoulos earned a César Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "All Your Faces," which featured a notable ensemble cast including Leïla Bekhti, Elodie Bouchez, Lellouche, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, and Miou-Miou, Herry’s mother.
