Cabaret Voltaire to Conclude US Tour with West Coast Dates
Cabaret Voltaire, the iconic UK industrial and electronic music band, is set to wrap up its touring activities, with final performances in the United States scheduled for mid-May. The group, featuring founding members Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson, will embark on a West Coast tour accompanied by I Speak Machine. An announcement regarding East Coast dates is expected soon, culminating in an October tour across various locations in England.
Formed in 1973, Cabaret Voltaire originally included Richard H. Kirk alongside Mallinder and Watson. The band gained prominence in the late 1970s, sharing stages with Joy Division and releasing influential albums like the 1980 record Three Mantras. Despite a series of lineup changes and challenges, the group continued to make its mark until their original run ended in 1994. They reunited in 2009, primarily as a platform for Kirk, who released the album Shadow of Fear in 2020. Following Kirk’s passing in 2021, Mallinder and Watson took to the stage for reunion shows in 2025, commemorating the band’s 50th anniversary.
