Bunnie XO, the real name Alyssa DeFord, recently opened up about a life-altering hitchhiking experience during an episode of the Dumb Blonde podcast aired on January 9. While exploring anonymous confessions, she connected with a listener’s story about hitchhiking with older men.
The listener expressed gratitude for their “guardian angels” after a risky encounter in their teenage years, where they got into a car with men in their mid-20s who shared acid. “I could have ended up on a milk carton,” the listener recalled, emphasizing the precarious nature of their decision.
Reflecting on her own experiences, 45-year-old Bunnie stated that hitchhiking is far less common today than in the 1960s. “I have crazy stories like that too, where it literally teaches you so many lessons in one f—— situation,” she shared. She added that the listener who inspired this conversation likely learned a lesson that day and would not attempt hitchhiking again.

Recollecting her own past, Bunnie shared a particularly unsettling incident of being picked up while walking near a trailer park. “Some f—— grown ass man picked us up and took us to his f—— house. Like, the amount of s— that we f—— did,” she recounted.
When asked for further details, Bunnie explained that the allure of the man’s German luxury car—a Porsche—drew them in. “That’s all that it took for us. We were like, ‘Oh, Porsche,’ ” she said.
“I’d never do that again. True. I f—— learned a lesson,” she added, choosing not to disclose what occurred at the stranger’s house but firmly advising her listeners against hitchhiking. “Do not f—— hitchhike. It’s not cool,” she concluded.
This glimpse into her past arrives alongside Bunnie’s conversations about parenting her 17-year-old stepdaughter, Bailee Ann, in earlier podcast episodes.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, were granted primary custody of Bailee Ann in 2016. Later that year, their family expanded with the addition of Jelly Roll’s son, Noah Buddy, from a previous relationship.
In January 2025, Bunnie reflected on her personal growth: “I just feel like I’ve been healing so much trauma with my parents that I finally am ready to be a parent. Like, I’ve helped raise Bailee since she was seven, and I think that also showed me that, hey, I’m not gonna f— up a kid’s life too badly.” She also expressed a sense of readiness for this new chapter, stating, “But I feel like I’ve mastered… not mastered, but I feel like I can do this. You know?”
Bunnie has been candid about her IVF journey in recent months as the couple seeks to expand their family. “It is tough, but at the same time it’s like, you just put it in God’s hands,” she conveyed in November 2025. “If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. And if not, we can always adopt.” She emphasized her and Jelly Roll’s openness to adoption as part of their parenting plans.
