BTS has officially announced their return, signaling their comeback to the music scene with exciting news for fans, known as ARMY.
The K-pop powerhouse commenced 2026 by unveiling plans for a new album, their first since the anthology release, Proof, in June 2022.
Featuring members RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, BTS aims to celebrate this new chapter with a world tour that promises to reach numerous global destinations.
On January 13, detailed tour dates were disclosed, indicating that the renowned group will perform in locations ranging from the United States to Japan and Spain.
These upcoming concerts will be BTS’ first group performances since their Permission to Dance on Stage events in 2021 and 2022, and will also mark their reunion following mandatory military service.

When will the new BTS album be released?

BTS’ upcoming album is set to release on March 20 at 1 p.m. KST (March 19 at 11 p.m. ET), as confirmed via their official fan platform.
The release date was shared in handwritten notes sent to select members of the BTS ARMY in December 2025.
Pre-orders for the album will open on January 16 at 1 p.m. KST (January 15 at 11 p.m. ET).
This new album marks the group’s first major release since Proof in 2022, after which BTS took a break to fulfill military obligations in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.
During a livestream in July 2025, BTS hinted at new music, stating, “Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas.” They added, “We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”
This release will be their first collaborative album since 2022, although all members have released solo works in the interim.

The new album will consist of 14 tracks, according to their official fan platform.
A press release states, “Featuring 14 tracks, the album is packed with honest stories that BTS wants to share with ARMY, who have been waiting for their comeback as a whole group.” It further mentions, “Filled with music that’s most true to BTS, the album is their heartfelt way of saying thank you to ARMY, who have been there this whole time.”
Is BTS going on tour in 2026?

BTS has confirmed plans for a world tour in 2026, kicking off on April 9 in South Korea. The tour will continue to Japan on April 17 and reach the United States on April 25.
This marks BTS’ first headline performances as a group since their Permission to Dance on Stage shows in 2021 and 2022.
According to the tour announcement, the events will feature a “360-degree, in-the-round stage design,” creating an immersive setup centered around the audience for an enhanced experience.
