Blake Lively Stands Strong After Dismissal of Baldoni’s Harassment Claim: Let’s Focus on What Matters
Blake Lively has made her stance clear regarding her upcoming legal battle with co-star Justin Baldoni. Her determination appears particularly strong as they prepare for trial related to events surrounding It Ends With Us.
“Don’t be distracted by the digital soap opera,” Lively asserted on Friday.
Following the dismissal of a sexual harassment claim from her lawsuit against Baldoni and his associates, Lively re-emphasized her commitment to fighting for victims’ rights. She stated, “I will never stop doing my part in fighting to expose the systems and people who seek to harm, shame, silence and retaliate against victims.”
Expressing awareness of her privilege in taking a stand, Lively added, “I will not waste it.”

In her social media post, Lively appeared to reference her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and close friend, Taylor Swift, closing with a potential nod highlighted by a dragon emoji.
Lively’s statement followed Judge Lewis Liman’s summary judgment ruling on Thursday. After an intense discussion among lawyers regarding the implications of the suit, she took the lead in addressing the public. “The last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit, but I brought this case because of the pervasive RETALIATION I faced, and continue to, for privately and professionally asking for a safe working environment for myself and others,” she wrote. Despite the dismissal of the sexual harassment claim due to jurisdictional issues, her defamation and retaliation claims remain central and are set to be presented to a New York jury starting on May 18.
The crux of Lively’s allegations centers around claims that Baldoni and his associates orchestrated a smear campaign against her in 2024, coinciding with promotional efforts for IEWU.
While Lively’s team argues there is evidence to support her claims, Baldoni’s side maintains that any negative attention Lively received was organic. Lively contends that the backlash she faced online was a strategic move to discredit her allegations of misconduct during the production of IEWU.
In her recent remarks, Lively shed light on the significant emotional toll that “digital violence” can inflict. “The physical pain from digital violence is very real,” she stated.

Judge Liman had previously mandated that both parties engage in settlement discussions. However, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, indicated in February that attempts to reach a settlement were “unsuccessful.” Lively’s latest Instagram comments leave little doubt about her intent to move forward with the trial, initially stemming from a December 2024 incident.
“See you in court,” Lively concluded.
