The countdown to the 2026 Met Gala has officially begun following an announcement from Vogue confirming the event’s co-chairs.
Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour will take on leadership roles for the highly anticipated event, which is set to take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. On December 10, Vogue revealed the co-chairs for the spring Costume Institute exhibition under the theme “Costume Art.”

This will mark Beyoncé’s first return to the Met Gala since 2016 when she attended the “Manus x Machina” event in Givenchy Haute Couture, bringing her total appearances to eight since making her debut in 2008.
Kidman and Williams are also familiar faces at the Met Gala, having attended multiple events over the years. Both made appearances at the “Superfine” gala this past May.

Additionally, Vogue has confirmed that Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz will co-chair the Host Committee for the event, joined by committee members including Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, and others. Further members will be announced at a later date.
The exhibition “Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton, aims to explore the interplay between clothing and the body, organized into various thematic sections addressing different body types.

On November 17, Vogue announced that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos are primary donors funding the 2026 Met Gala. Saint Laurent and Condé Nast will also contribute to the event, celebrating the new exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This gala will also be significant as it will be the first for new Vogue Editor-in-Chief Chloe Malle, who took over after Anna Wintour stepped down following a 37-year tenure.
The 2026 Met Gala is scheduled for May 4, 2026.
