Benjamin Bratt Cast in Dan Fogelman’s NFL Drama ‘The Land’ and ‘Bosch’ Spinoff ‘Ballard’
Benjamin Bratt Joins Cast of Upcoming Series on Hulu and Prime Video
Actor Benjamin Bratt has secured key recurring roles in two highly anticipated series: Dan Fogelman’s NFL drama The Land for Hulu and Season 2 of Prime Video’s Ballard.
The Land, crafted by Fogelman, delves into the intricacies of the NFL, incorporating family dynamics that span generations. Christopher Meloni stars as Danny, the head coach of a football team, while Bratt’s character remains undisclosed; however, it is speculated he will portray an NFL head coach with past ties to Danny.
The cast includes notable actors such as William H. Macy, Mandy Moore, Chace Crawford, Chloe Bennet, Sam Corlett, Tanner Zagarino, and Bridget Moynahan. Produced by 20th Television and Skydance Sports, the series is led by executive producers Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, and Kevin Falls, alongside David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed from Skydance Sports.
In Ballard, based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels, Bratt will take on the role of Ryan Ainsley, a former DEA agent who has opted for a simpler life as a cowboy in Idaho. The series follows LAPD Detective Renée Ballard, played by Maggie Q, who transitions from the Hollywood night shift to the Cold Case Unit, striving to earn her place and respect within the department.
The second season of Ballard will also feature Titus Welliver, Courtney Taylor, Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles, Amy Hill, and John Carroll Lynch. The season is set to be produced by Michael Connelly and others in 2026.
Bratt is expected to appear next in Peter Farrelly’s action-comedy Balls Up, alongside Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser, and Molly Shannon. His recent works include roles in Disney+’s Andor, Edward Burns’ Millers in Marriage, Netflix’s Mother of the Bride, and Apple TV’s Loot, featuring Maya Rudolph.
Bratt, recognized for his Emmy-nominated performance in NBC’s Law & Order, is also known for his role in Poker Face, opposite Natasha Lyonne. He is represented by Circle Management + Production, CAA, and Myman Greenspan Fox.
