Bebe Rexha Seeks Taylor Swift’s Support to Move Past Recent Setbacks

Bebe Rexha is still awaiting her breakout moment, believing that Taylor Swift may hold the key to her success.
In a series of light-hearted posts on X, the dance-pop singer humorously lamented her situation, describing it as being trapped in the so-called “khia asylum.” This term refers to musicians who struggle for long periods to gain cultural relevance, and has faced criticism for its racist undertones. In one post, Rexha shared a meme depicting the grim reaper “freeing” artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, and Zara Larsson from the metaphorical asylum. She wrote, “Guys please help me. It’s so lonely in here.”
Rexha further entertained her followers with a voice note, joking, “I heard Sabrina got out. Zara, Charli, they left. They never looked back. And my fat a–, flop a– is still in here.”
When a fan suggested that Rexha enlist the help of a certain 14-time Grammy winner to manage her career, Rexha responded, “That’s actually genius.”
While her posts were meant to be humorous, they belied a reality of success for Rexha. Over the past 15 years, she has achieved notable acclaim as both a singer and songwriter, with 13 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and four Grammy nominations.
However, Rexha acknowledges that she has not yet attained the same level of pop culture recognition as some of her peers. Recently, she has expressed renewed confidence as she embarks on a new chapter in her career. After announcing on January 11 that she is no longer signed to Warner Records, Rexha revealed her new partnership with Empire, a company led by Ghazi. “THEY BELIEVE AND ARE AMAZING,” she stated on X.
