BBC Names New Host for ‘Race Across The World’ Spin-Off After Scott Mills Steps Down
The BBC has swiftly appointed Tyler West to replace Scott Mills as the host of the upcoming Race Across the World spin-off, launching tonight.
West, a TV presenter and DJ, has previously participated in the third season of Celebrity Race Across the World alongside his partner, Molly Rainford. He will lead the new show, titled Race Across the World: The Detour.

In tonight’s episode, West will welcome guests including Kola Bokinni and Rainford, with Season 4 winner Alfie Watts sharing his top travel tips.
The BBC’s quick action comes amid growing scrutiny surrounding Mills, who recently confirmed that he was a subject of a police investigation in 2017. New information about this situation emerged in recent weeks, prompting the network to address the matter publicly.
Mills, who won Celebrity Race Across the World in 2024 with his husband, Sam Vaughan, has provided his first official statement regarding the investigation.
The popular format of Race Across the World, which features duos competing on a limited budget using ground transportation, continues to gain traction among audiences. The The Detour vodcast, announced on March 12, is designed as a companion to the main series, similar to The Traitors: Uncloaked.
