BAFTA Welcomes Lisa Campbell, Former Edinburgh TV Festival Leader
BAFTA Appoints Lisa Campbell as Executive Director of Programmes
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the appointment of Lisa Campbell as its Executive Director of Programmes. Campbell, the current Director of Corporate Communications at ITN, will lead BAFTA’s Programmes team, overseeing various talent initiatives, including school outreach, career starter programs, BAFTA Elevate, and BAFTA Breakthrough.
Previously, Campbell managed the Edinburgh Television Festival and served as the editor of Broadcast magazine. She recently completed a secondment to run the Creative Cities Convention.
BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip expressed her enthusiasm for Campbell’s appointment, stating, “Lisa is an incredibly accomplished media executive with a wealth of experience and expertise in debating the issues that matter, engaging the industry, seeking solutions, and promoting a rich and diverse talent pipeline. I’m absolutely delighted she is joining BAFTA at a key time, as we scale up our work in thought leadership and our talent development work, from schools and career starters through to all-career development.”
In her new role, Campbell emphasized the significance of the current moment for the screen industries. “Stepping into an organisation whose global reputation for championing creative excellence is unmatched. As the sector evolves at speed, BAFTA’s ability to nurture talent, set the agenda and bring the industry together matters more than ever,” she said.
