Aryna Sabalenka Celebrates Her Engagement with a Wedding Veil and Bouquet Toss
Aryna Sabalenka Prepares for Wedding During BNP Paribas Open Practice
Aryna Sabalenka was spotted donning a veil and tossing a bouquet as she warmed up at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, on March 11. The professional tennis player paired her tulle headpiece with a black Nike tank top and shorts, embodying both elegance and athleticism.
Last week, Sabalenka announced her engagement to entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis, prompting her preparations for the upcoming nuptials. During her practice session, she was seen playfully throwing a bouquet of flowers over her shoulder. In a lighthearted moment, Frangulis adorned himself with the veil, playfully layering it over his baseball cap.
Wearing a black Nike tank emblazoned with the brand’s signature swoosh, Sabalenka complemented her outfit with matching athletic shorts and a white sports bra. The couple shared their engagement news on March 4 through a series of heartfelt portraits on Instagram. "I can finally call him something else… FIANCÉ," she expressed in the joint post.
In the engagement photos, Sabalenka showcased a striking 12-carat diamond ring designed by Isabela Grutman. The custom creation, set in platinum, features an oval-cut center stone flanked by tiny emeralds, according to reports. Experts have estimated the ring’s value could reach up to $1 million.
Pamela Catlett, the chief brand officer at Brilliant Earth, remarked on the ring’s exquisite design, highlighting its "sculptural precision" and suggesting that a stone of its quality could indeed be valued at that amount. Olivia Landau, CEO of The Clear Cut, echoed this sentiment, placing its worth between $500,000 and $1 million, and emphasizing the blend of traditional and modern elements in its design.
As Sabalenka resumes her preparation for the tennis tournament amidst wedding plans, it’s clear that both her athletic pursuits and personal milestones are capturing public interest.
