Ariana Grande’s upcoming lead single from her album Petal, titled “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” is set to release in just a few days. The pop star shared a teaser on Monday, May 18, offering fans a first glimpse of the track.
The teaser features a black-and-white visual that combines the song’s title with images of Grande. The sound design, reminiscent of falling water droplets, is processed to create a unique musical quality, though it does not include any vocals or lyrics from the song.
This brief sample arrives approximately 11 days ahead of the official release of “Hate That I Made You Love Me” on May 29. The track is one of 12 on Petal, which is scheduled for release on July 31.
Grande co-produced the single along with notable producers Max Martin and ILYA. When she announced the track, she described it as “one of my favorite songs I’ll ever write.”
Although fans will have to wait for the full album’s release until later this summer, the lead single will be available in time for Grande’s first tour in six years. The Eternal Sunshine Tour kicks off on June 6 and includes 41 shows across various North American cities, culminating in 10 performances at the O2 Arena in London.
