Juno Temple’s ‘The Husbands’ Cast Revealed, Featuring a Stellar Lineup of Spouses
In an exciting announcement, Juno Temple’s upcoming series, The Husbands, has revealed its impressive cast. Temple will portray the lead character, Lauren, joined by a notable ensemble that includes Joe Alwyn, Richard Gadd, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Joel Kinnaman, Daniel Ings, Bob Morley, and Fehinti Balogun, all set to play her multiple husbands in the Apple TV production.
The series, produced by A24, follows a unique premise: Lauren returns home one evening to find herself inexplicably married to a man named Michael, whom she has no recollection of meeting. As she struggles to understand this bizarre situation, Michael mysteriously disappears, only to be replaced by a new husband. This intricate narrative will be explored across eight episodes, lending itself to a captivating examination of identity and relationships.
The cast reflects a strong emphasis on British talent, with Alwyn recently featuring in Hamnet and Gadd preparing for his role in Half Man, following his success in Baby Reindeer.
Ben-Adir has garnered attention for his roles in Bob Marley: One Love and Barbie, while Kinnaman is currently involved in various streaming projects, including Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole and For All Mankind. Ings is fresh off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Balogun starred in Down Cemetery Road, and Morley is known for his work in The 100.
Additional casting includes Tom Basden from The Ballad of Wallis Island, Joe Wilkinson of After Life, Gemma Whelan from Gentlemen Jack, Rebekah Murrell of One Day, and Shazad Latif known for Wuthering Heights.
The adaptation of The Husbands originates from Holly Gramazio’s acclaimed debut novel, which explores a comedic yet thought-provoking dilemma: if swapping lives can be as simple as changing a lightbulb, how can one know if they have made the right choices in life?
This series is under the auspices of A24’s UK division, which is also working on several notable upcoming projects, including the Channel 4 soccer drama Major Players and Michaela Coel’s new show, First Day on Earth, for the BBC and HBO.
The show will be executive produced by lead writer Miriam Battye (Succession) alongside directors Adam Randall (Slow Horses), Josephine Bornebusch (Bad Sisters), and Kate Hewitt (One Day). Additional producers include Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya), Annie Marter (The Devil All The Time), Holly Gramazio, Juno Temple, and A24.
This compelling new series is sure to capture audience interest with its unique concept and talented cast.
