Andy Serkis is Back as Alfred in DC’s Upcoming ‘The Batman II’
Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler, in Matt Reeves’ upcoming sequel, The Batman II. Production for the film is set to begin in June in London.
The challenge for Serkis has been coordinating his filming schedule for The Batman II with that of his next project, Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which is slated for release on December 17, 2027. Fortunately, it seems he has managed to accommodate both shoots.
Recently, Serkis has been promoting his work on Angel Studios’ animated film, Animal Farm, which he directed. During a press interaction with Collider, he was asked about his return for The Batman II. Serkis expressed optimism, stating, “I’m pretty certain it’s all going to work out. Yeah, we’re working on it, but I think it’s all looking good.” He also noted that while he wouldn’t be joining the production immediately, he expects to be involved by the end of the year, as reported by Screen Rant.
In The Batman II, Serkis will reunite with a stellar cast, including Robert Pattinson as Batman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Scarlett Johansson, and Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent.
