Anaheim Car Crash Results in 2 Fatalities and Multiple Serious Injuries
Two Dead, Several Injured in Multi-Car Crash in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. – A tragic multi-car accident early Tuesday morning in Anaheim resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left several others in critical condition. The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard, when, according to police, one vehicle ran a red light, colliding with multiple cars.
Authorities reported that the chain of events began around 12:45 a.m., when an officer noticed a silver Infiniti driving erratically near Harbor Boulevard and Cypress Street. The driver then turned off the vehicle’s lights and fled the scene. Police clarified that they did not pursue the vehicle with emergency lights activated.
Shortly thereafter, the Infiniti crashed into several vehicles at the busy intersection, including a blue Honda Accord, a red Toyota Camry, and a white Cadillac Escalade. Among the four passengers in the Infiniti, one was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other three, including two teenage girls, sustained critical injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The driver of the red Toyota Camry was also confirmed dead at the scene.
In total, seven individuals were involved in the collision, which affected four vehicles in total.
Investigation Ongoing
Traffic investigators remained on-site for several hours to gather evidence and reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the crash. Authorities noted that traffic cameras captured the moment the Infiniti disregarded the red light.
The intersection at Lincoln Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard was reopened to traffic shortly after 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
A witness at the scene indicated that he saw police trailing the suspect’s vehicle just prior to the accident. However, Anaheim police maintained that officers were not in pursuit when the collision occurred.
