Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer End Their Seven-Year Marriage
Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer Confirm Divorce
Amy Schumer and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, have announced their decision to divorce after nearly eight years of marriage. The announcement was made through an Instagram post on Friday, in which Schumer stated that they would prioritize co-parenting their son, Gene, born in 2019.
In her candid message, Schumer expressed, "Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son." The post featured a photo of the couple together on the New York City subway.
Schumer requested privacy during this challenging time, adding, "We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time…. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever."
Rumors of marital discord had circulated in recent weeks, despite Schumer affirming in November that she was "still married" to Fischer. Earlier in December, she addressed her relationship dynamics, stating, "Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism. Fingers crossed we make it through. He’s the best."
In the wake of their announcement, Schumer has signaled a fresh start by revamping her Instagram feed, which had been wiped clean prior to her latest updates. Weeks ago, she showcased her weight loss transformation in a new post, confidently posing in a red strapless mini dress.
As this new chapter unfolds for Schumer and Fischer, their focus remains on providing a stable and loving environment for their son, Gene.
