American Blue Welcomes New Cast Members: Paulina Olszynski, Algee Smith, Jeremy Bobb, and Rich Sommer Join the Team
HBO Max Expands Cast for Upcoming Drama Pilot "American Blue"
HBO Max’s upcoming pilot American Blue has added several notable actors to its cast, including Paulina Olszynski, Algee Smith, Jeremy Bobb, and Rich Sommer. This expansion follows the earlier announcement of Milo Ventimiglia taking on the lead role of Brian Milkovich.
Joining Ventimiglia, who plays a native son returning to his hometown to aid a struggling police force, are Kelly Jenrette, Carlito Olivero, Onye Eme-Akwari, Jess Gabor, and Eddie Kaye Thomas.
Initially reported back in January, American Blue is a cop drama developed by Jeremy Carver of Supernatural fame, in collaboration with Warner Bros Television. David Ayer will direct the pilot.
The one-hour drama centers on Brian “Milk” Milkovich as he seeks redemption while attempting to rescue the beleaguered Joliet, IL police force.
Details about the new cast members reveal their characters:
Olszynski portrays Lisa ‘Matty’ Matichak, a determined patrol officer and mother of a child with special needs, who faces daily challenges with resilience and positivity.
Smith plays Andre Quick, a rookie patrol officer dealing with personal difficulties stemming from family connections.
Bobb depicts Joe Bebar, a veteran officer grappling with burnout and frustration.
Sommer takes on the role of Ray Kaluza, Joliet’s Chief of Police, who faces the daunting task of guiding his department through a crisis.
Carver serves as the writer and executive producer alongside Brian Udovich, Neil Reynolds, and Ayer. Ventimiglia is also co-executive producing the project, with his producing partner, Russ Cundiff, as a contributing producer. Warner Bros Television is the studio backing the pilot.
Olszynski is represented by Industry Entertainment, Smith by Neon Kite, UTA, and Goodman Genow Schenkman, Bobb by Gersh and Suskin/Karshan Management, and Sommer by Innovative Artists and Davis Spylios Management.
