AMC Theatres Introduces Exciting Live Concert Events with Arena One
AMC, renowned as the world’s largest exhibitor, has partnered with live entertainment company Arena One to launch a groundbreaking concert venture in June. This initiative aims to stream live events to over 300 AMC locations across the United States.
The project, titled Arena One At AMC, is set to kick off with performances by Bebe Rexha on June 17, Paris Hilton on June 18, and Maren Morris on June 20. Additional performers and dates will be announced shortly. Ticket prices will range from $40 to $75, plus applicable taxes and online fees, varying based on the artist and market.
According to the partners, this format enhances accessibility for fans and provides artists a novel way to connect with audiences without the restrictions of traditional touring. Live concerts and concert films featuring artists such as Taylor Swift, BTS, and Beyoncé have significantly impacted the domestic box office. For instance, the concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, distributed by AMC, played a crucial role in revitalizing the exhibition sector amid challenges in the fall of 2023.
Rohit Kapoor, founder and chief creative officer of Arena One, emphasized, “The next chapter of live shows isn’t about proximity to big venues; it’s about creating visceral, intimate, affordable live connections between artists and fans no matter where they are.” Kapoor believes the venture offers artists a new platform tailored for cinema, enhancing the raw energy and shared experience that make live performances memorable.
The experience will integrate interactive technology that captures “crowd buzz, sound and reactions flowing back and forth between the fans and performers,” ensuring a seamless connection between the stage and cinema audiences. The dedicated performance stage is situated in Lititz, Pennsylvania, at Arena One’s headquarters.
AMC CEO Adam Aron stated that the initiative “has the potential to open an entirely new chapter in live entertainment,” allowing music fans nationwide to gather for the same concert simultaneously, all while enjoying a premium experience complete with large screens, powerful sound, and comfortable seating.
Aron first introduced this innovative concept during AMC’s first-quarter earnings call. Peter Hamilton, CEO of Arena One, added, “We built a cinematic stage optimized to translate seamlessly to cinemas, but artists are defining what it becomes. They’re not adapting tours; they’re building something new. That’s when a medium sparks reinvention.”
